Inspired by the Ionian Island in Greece and the Meze theme of our collection, the Ithaca Meze Bowl with Spoon would be a beautiful addition to any dining table. Handcrafted from Ceramics, each bowl has been glazed then finished with a simple moulded pattern on the outside, with shades and bubbles varying from piece to piece. This contrasts with the smoother glaze on the inside in soft neutral tones.
The rustic natural appearance of the nibble style bowl looks striking when filled with fresh sauces and dips. Coming complete with the matching spoon the set is perfect to have on the table ahead of tapas evenings or family dinners. E

I bought the Ithaca meze bowl with spoon and Ithaca meze plate for my daughters birthday and they were both just as expected, beautiful and just as shown on your website. However the package was sent in a huge box that looked as though the bottom was about to fall out. Inside there was lots of spare room for the contents to move about in. The large meze plate was wrapped in large bubble wrap but the sides of the dish were not covered at all. ( I had to rewrap it to package it up to pass on to my daughter.) Luckily the plate was miraculously
undamaged. The meze bowl and spoon were packed together in a small box but only wrapped inside in very thin, pretty useless bubble wrap. The spoon fell out on opening and immediately smashed, still inside its bubble wrap, as it fell a couple of inches onto the worktop. I rang Garden Trading and another spoon was sent out immediately. This spoon was wrapped in exactly the same way as before inside a largish ‘padded’ envelope. This was also extremely flimsy other lots of space for the contents to rattle around in and not at all suitable to protect a ceramic spoon that had been pushed through my letterbox to fall a metre to the floor. Also miraculously this did not break, more by luck than judgement. I also was not happy to receive all that plastic padding and bubble wrap. Shredded cardboard or crumpled paper would have been better in protecting the contents and also better for the environment. This alone would put me off buying from Garden Trading in future.
