Colour Guide

Our Garden Trading colourways have been specially chosen to complement a range of interior styles. Whether you’re considering soft neutrals, urban greys or pops of green, our guide will help you select the perfect hues for your home.

NEUTRALS

WARM WHITE

White with a dash of cream, our Warm White colourway can be seen in our enamelware and Christmas collections. Its neutral tone makes it perfect for styling with soft greys and woods or brighter tones, like Forest Green and Brick.

LILY WHITE

Warmer than bright white minus the grey tones of Chalk, Lily White matches the soft petals of its namesake. Used in our furniture, kitchen, pet care and lighting collections, it’s a perfect choice if you want to keep colours neutral throughout the home.

CHALK

A gentle glossy off-white, Chalk’s pale tone bears a hint of warm grey, making it softer than the bright glare of pure white; the perfect neutral shade to blend seamlessly into any colour scheme. It appears throughout our kitchen, utility and lighting collections.

SAND

Meet the modern neutral which offers more warmth than Clay but much lighter, muted tones than Cinnamon. Sand has a clean, delicate feel that creates a subtle glow in any room. Complementing dimly lit living spaces, it beautifully offsets stark whites or contrasts with deep blue tones such as Ink, creating a cosy environment.

CLAY

Possibly best described as the colour of putty and vintage earthenware, Clay is a warm neutral shade which veers towards a slightly muddied cream. With a glossy finish, it has a versatile pastel tone that can easily be mixed with brighter hues.

COFFEE BEAN

This deep matt brown shade draws inspiration from the rich hue of coffee beans before roasting. With its earthy warmth, our Coffee Bean colourway works beautifully out in the garden, giving a vintage look to metal fittings. Calm, rich and bold, it brings a comforting touch to any environment.

FLINT

This understated, calming shade of grey is soft and delicate with a glossy finish, evoking the sheen on oyster shells and beach faded pebbles. Its neutral, light grey tones mirror the landscape of its home, the Sussex Downs, where flint has long been part of the natural colour scheme.

EARL GREY

Taking its name from the classic fragrant tea, this soft and calming colourway has a hint of dusky blue. Present in our fabrics which feature stripes of off-white, this is a shade that works perfectly alongside monochrome and neutral palettes.

CHARCOAL

A mid-tone urban grey, our shade of matt Charcoal sits really well with both neutral and brighter colour schemes, allowing you to add deeper accents to your interiors. Despite the name, its tone is not nearly as dark as some other 'charcoals'.

CARBON

An off-black tint mixed with a subtle midnight blue to remove any harshness. Inspired not just by the mineral, but also by vintage carbon copy paper, with its rich waxy matt finish. As with black, a little of Carbon goes a long way. This is the perfect accent colour to complement pale wood finishes, lighter greys and neutrals.

COOL TONES

TARN BLUE

A versatile mid tone that is soft and serene, Tarn owes its freshness to a rich blue base and its warmth to soft green undertones. Soothing, tranquil and sophisticated, its therapeutic, calming tones coordinate beautifully with a range of colours.

LAGOON BLUE

Roots firmly in nature, this true, easy-to-pair rich lagoon blue is an uplifting shade guaranteed to add vibrancy and sophistication. Featuring in our Bistro collection, it works well alongside deeper shades of blue, neutral clay and dark reds.

LULWORTH BLUE

Named after Lulworth Cove in Dorset, this mid-tone blue has a definite coastal vibe. Use it indoors or out to add a happy pop of colour alongside naturals and whites.

INK

As the name suggests, Ink is a traditional and timeless deep blue. We’ve combined it with neutrals and whites in fabrics, home accessories and tableware to give you a smart and stylish way to update your home colour schemes.

SAGE

The lightest of our greens - like the herb - is subtle and soft. Sage is perfect for adding a hint of colour without going too bold. Style it alongside whites, darker greens and soft pinks to create an uplifting look and feel.

THISTLE GREEN

Just that little bit darker than Sage, this soft green with just a hint of brightness is designed to give interiors a fresh feeling, particularly when styled alongside neutral whites and natural woods. It is featured in our pet care, garden storage and cushion collections.

FOLIAGE GREEN

Serving as a colourway for the Richmond Bench and within our indoor ceramic pot collection, it’s fitting that Foliage Green is strong and bold, like waxy leaves of beautiful botanicals. Use it to create a harmonious colour palette indoors or out, alongside lighter greens, pinks and naturals.

ROSEMARY

Reminiscent of a freshly poured iced drink with a twist of Rosemary, this mid-tone green adds a fresh feel to tableware when presented alongside pinks, whites and neutrals.

FOREST GREEN

A bold, earthy darker-than-dark green which gives a feeling of strength and stability and creates all the depth, drama and decadence of dense woodland as it brings the outside in. Pairs well with whites and neutrals.

WARM HUES

LEMON

Lemon is inspired by the Italian fruits grown in Sorrento and used in Limoncello. Fresh and bright, it’s perfect for adding a pop of colour to our Bistro furniture collection.

TURMERIC

A rich, cocooning hue that envelops and nourishes the light in your room, Turmeric is a warming, golden shade that radiates sunshine all year long and leaves you feeling energised. Works well alongside Cove Blue and Ink for pops of colour, in addition to naturals and whites.

CINNAMON

Our earthiest yellow, Cinnamon is softly baked with a touch of brown to tone down its energy levels. This easy-going shade is woody and muted, making it less intense and more wholesome than spicy Turmeric.

PUMPKIN

Made for autumn, Pumpkin is bright and matt in tone. Seen across our range of ceramics and textiles, it’s perfect for adding a warming pop of colour alongside natural woods, white steel and marble.

PINK GIN

Pink Gin is soft, chalky and evokes the feeling of spring. It can be seen in our range of ceramics where it beautifully complements their natural materials, in addition to the colourways Rosemary and Sage.

POMEGRANATE

An empowering and rich burgundy, this dramatic jewel of a colour adds warmth, impact and drama. Burnt in tone, it is used in our Bistro products only, providing an earthy look that pairs well with neutral off-whites or other strong contrasting shades, such as Carbon or Coffee Bean.

BRICK

The deepest of our red tones, Brick is a seasonal colour seen throughout our range of decorations and candle holders. Its warmth is perfect for adding a touch of colour to interiors, especially when styled alongside greens and whites.
