Power your home sustainably with the Northwick Solar Wall Light. Produced with a grey matt Powder Coated Aluminium frame it comes with a built-in (non-replaceable) LED encased by a frosted Polycarbonate diffuser. Extremely practical the light requires no wiring in and comes with a lifespan of 100,000 hours.

This outdoor wall light is designed to automatically turn on once it gets dark outside and turn off once the morning arrives. It also has the added benefit of a built-in motion sensor, that brightens when movement is detected. When using the light for the first time we recommend allowing around 24 hours for the battery to sufficiently charge. The optimum work/charge time requires sunlight therefore worktime on duller days may decrease slightly.

Your Questions

The description says the light will come on when it gets dark (<20) which defeats the purpose of having a sensor, I presume then that the microlight is on all the time in dark conditions, so what is that light level like?

The lamp lights up very dimly in environment below 20Lux and lights up fully (250LM) when it detects movement within 6 meters of itself. The micro lights is 15% of the full brightness.

Does this work if it’s placed in a north facing aspect?

Yes, however please note that it may take longer to charge/be active for a shorter period of time than if it was placed on a south facing wall, with access to direct sunshine.

How long is the warranty?

We have a 1 year manufacturers guarantee.

Can't comment - goods weren't delivered when promised.

The service from Garden Trading Company was fine, but unfortunately they use DPD for deliveries and their service was anything but. Having taken the day off to be in to receive the parcel on the nominated delivery day (having paid extra for the service), DPD contacted me to tell me that the delivery would be made between 3:04pm and 4:04pm. By 5pm the delivery hadn't arrived, so I contacted DPD; they told me the delivery driver was running behind schedule, but he would still be delivering. At 7pm he still hadn't arrived, so I called again and they told me they couldn't reach the driver but that he would definitely deliver that day, however their office was shortly closing. I stayed in on Friday night on this assurance, but at 9pm I got a message saying "Sorry we missed you" - the driver didn't make any attempt to deliver and the GPS tracking showed him several miles away near Wembley (presumably where he lives); there was no call from the driver, no apology for wasting a whole day off, no apology for the false assurance from the call centre that told me to wait in on a Friday night for no reason. When the call centre reopened the following day, I was told the delivery would be made on Monday - too late; I wasn't going to take another day off to be left to the mercy of a DPD driver's whim. I cancelled my order and wouldn't order from Garden Trading Company again unless they changed courier company - I have consistently found DPD to be dire. I presume GTC and others use them because they are cheap, but companies that use them won't be getting my custom again. Very disappointed with Garden Trading Company and cannot recommend.
