Reclaimed Teak
02 June 2017
Reclaimed Teak is becoming increasingly popular. It is one of the toughest timbers and naturally produces a rustic, natural look.
All the Reclaimed Teak is authenticated and responsibly sourced from old houses and bridges. All timbers are kiln dried to obtain a moisture content reading of below 15%. This makes the timber more suitable to the British climate and avoids unwanted swelling and cracking. After the timber is dried it is sanded back and “Bottle Polished”, moving glass bottles over the surface of the wood to encourage the timber to release its natural oils and enhance the aged look of the timber. Finally the Reclaimed Teak is finished by waxing to obtain a lovely honey colour.
