Helping the dawn chorus

16 April 2013

A little birdie tells us we won’t have to wait too much longer for some sun! The glimmer of sunshine last weekend was thoroughly enjoyed by us – and of course, our garden. Apparently there is a long record of good summers following late springs… hooray!

But rather than getting too excited about the human pleasures of suntans and BBQs just yet, we want to focus on the more back-to-nature pleasures - longer evenings, budding plants, fresh air and the wonderful return of bird song at dawn and dusk.

Talking of birds…

After such a long, hard and persistent winter our bird life has had a difficult start to the year. So,we’ve been wondering what can we do in our gardens to make life a little easier for our feathered friends?

Well… continuing to feed birds at this time of the year provides good food for adults while they’re working hard to find insects and grubs for their young, so a well stocked garden bird feeder provides a welcome rest for any bird. Check out our charming wooden hanging wooden bird feeder - a must for all bird and garden lovers. The simple elegance of the design is inspired from nature’s rustic, natural look. Your garden’s birdlife will be grateful for the extra help!

And it’s not too late to pop a bird box in the garden too.
