7 Uses for your Glass Carrier by Guest Blogger Theoda Solms Iles
29 June 2015
With the arrival of summer, there don't seem to be enough weekends to entertain friend’s alfresco style. One of the best parts of hosting, is being able to use all your loved pieces of beautiful home ware, trying new recipes and having friends around. So one if the items I love using in summer is this cute little metal glass carrier from Garden Trading. Not only do I use mine in summer for serving drinks, but mine works really hard all year round in a number of ways. Here I show you just how versatile this lovely Glass Carrier with Six Glasses can be.
1. DRINKS EVERYONE!
Take the hassle out of serving drinks with a handy carrier filled with exotic, cooling drinks. Not only will it save you on energy and time, but also you’ll look like the expert host being in complete control.
2. SERVING SNACKS.
Dishing up nibbles in tumbler glasses might not be a new idea, make yours different by folding pretty paper in cone shapes to hold the snacks inside the glasses. Go all out and try newspaper print paper for mini fish goujons and chips.
3. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD
These little glasses look especially pretty holding small informal floral posies. Just a few flowers are needed for each glass, garden flowers and foliage being the preferred. Keep some posies in the metal carrier and dot some of the glasses along the table for an informal floral piece.
4. CUT AND COME AGAIN
Create your own herb garden on your kitchen sill. Repot some of your planted herbs like basil, thyme, chives or parsley into the glasses. As you'll be using these herbs so frequently, they will be fine to be planted in these glasses for a short time. Keep a few galsses free to hold cuttings of other herbs like rosemary, mint, sage and more. Not only will it look pretty, it's super handy and will fragrance your kitchen too.
5. LET THERE BE LIGHT
Perfect for inside and even better for outside, these glasses can double up as candleholders. Fill one third of the glass with sand or sugar and simply stick a taper candle inside. Tea light candles can also be used, scented or citronella ones will add a nice touch.
(Disclaimer: Never leave any candles unattended!)
6. DESK TIDY
It’s easy keeping your office space in check with so many 'pots' to place stationary in. This idea is especially handy if your work area is constantly moving or your little one practices art lessons in the kitchen one day and bedroom the next. This way, you’ll have all those coloured crayons contained and a handy carrier to kart them around.
7. READY, SET, DINE
Turn your glass carrier into a cutlery caddy, perfect for informal meals and ready to carry to the dining or garden table. This way you can also show off your pretty cutlery and make a show of them displayed on the dresser.
