Enjoy a Summer Barbecue
13 May 2016
There’s nothing quite so British as someone steadfastly tending a barbeque while clinging to an umbrella. The weather over the past few weeks has been a mixture of beautiful hot sunny days and sudden downpours, but don’t let that put you off from enjoying the highlights of a Summer barbecue!
If it is sunny enough to sit out, why not make the most of the weather with one of our St Mawes Drinks/Planter Tables? These stunning tables feature an inbuilt galvanised trough that’s perfect for filling with ice and then popping in bottles of your favourite barbecue drinks, or if you need more space on the table, set up a Bibury Planter the same way and place it nearby for easy serving. If you’re out and about, our Picnic collection has everything you need to carry your barbecue essentials to the beach, park and more.
Our collection of Barbecues is designed to be simple, portable and efficient, so that you can enjoy delicious outdoor cooking wherever you decide to set up, from your garden to the beach. If it does rain, and you don’t quite fancy darting through the downpour with trays of kebabs, there’s always the oven and grill to prepare food, but there are a few ways that you can make sure it stills feels like a proper barbecue. Include a few Nibble Bowls with seasonal snacks to make sure your family’s traditional barbecue touches are all included, from roasted peanuts, to coleslaw, and even baked beans.
Including fresh, exciting touches to your table can be just the thing to perk up a meal and make it feel like a Summer feast. This simple, sunny salsa is quick and easy to prepare, and uses hardly any ingredients to create a spicy but sweet accompaniment to burgers, sausages and other barbecue staples, whether you’re out in the sun or taking shelter! Simply grab a Bowl, Chopping Board and Jug and Juicer Set, and you’re good to go.
Mango & Chilli Salsa
1 ripe Mango (softish), chopped into small cubes
1 Red Pepper, chopped into small cubes
1 Red Chilli (seeds removed), finely chopped
Juice of 1/2 a Lime
Handful of Coriander, finely chopped
A few Mint leaves, finely chopped
Combine these fresh ingredients in a bowl and mix well, then leave for at least an hour and serve at room temperature. Those who prefer less of a kick can feel free to add or subtract the chilli and lime juice to taste.
