Inspiration for your pots

08 May 2013

For keen gardeners, last weekend will have been a very busy one and maybe the most pleasurable of the year so far. There is just so much to do at this time of year, especially when it comes to pots, planters and containers and now we’re clear of frosts, there’s no holding back on the seedlings and bedding plants.

We’ve been asking what you’ve been planting, call it nosey but we genuinely want to know what your favourites are. Some of the more esoteric offerings have been lemon thyme, lantana and apple blossom while others are more on the veg route with radishes, spinach and beetroot, all popular choices. And petunias are as well-liked as ever.

When it comes to planting pots and containers we often use a wonderful website Burncoose Nurseries for practical planting tips and inspiration for something original to plant. What we like best is that there is a really great, comprehensive section on patio plants as well as a simple A-Z of plant names.

We like them too as they have been filling our planters with beautiful plants.
